Beachcomber Foam Free is a concentrated fast-acting defoamer that works to suppress and dissipate suds and foam in your hot tub or spa water. A small amount of Beachcomber Foam Free will dissipate foam on contact, instantaneously.

Persistent hot tub water foaming can be a clear indication of the presence of high Total Dissolved solids, dirty or plugged filter, or low calcium level. If foaming persists use Beachcomber 6 Way Water test strips to test your hot tub waters chemical levels.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Level

  • TDS measures how tired, saturated or well used the water in your hot tub has become. This reading indicates whether you should dilute existing water by adding more in or when you need to completely drain and refill your hot tub.
  • TDS levels at or above 150 ppm will produce foam

Solution: Empty and do a freshwater fill or do a partial drain and fill with fresh water. See the Beachcomber Drain & Fill Kit for further details.

Bather Load

  • If a detergent-based product gets into your hot tub it will cause the foam to produce. This can happen occasionally when swimsuits and people, that usually have trace amounts of lotion, detergents and soap, are introduced into the hot tub water.

Solution: Get rid of foam by thoroughly rinsing the filter, cleaning the filter, performing partial or full drain, or super chlorinating.

Low Calcium Hardness

  • Calcium levels optimal range is 150-200 ppm. Low calcium hardness levels will produce more foam compared to harder water.

Solution: Increase hot tub water Calcium hardness by adding Beachcomber Protect.

Persistent hot tub water foaming can be a clear indication of the presence of high Total Dissolved Solids.

When this happens it is best to drain and fill your hot tub with fresh water.

Application:

  • Use sparingly.
  • Shake bottle before for best results
  • Pour a small squirt of Foam Free into hot tub water to eliminate foam
  • If foam forms after a few minutes, repeat step 3

Note: if foaming continually occurs, your may need to drain and fresh water fill your hot tub.
