When Should You Replace Your Hot Tub Jets

Hot tub jets typically last between 5 and 10 years with consistent and smart hot tub maintenance. They will need to be replaced once they rust, leak, become physically damaged, or cease to function correctly. For replacement hot tub supplies and parts, shop high-quality selection online or in-person with Seaway Pools & Hot Tubs at one of our two GTA showrooms.

Sign that Your Jets Need to be Replaced

  • Low Water Pressure or Poor Performance: This indicates that the jets are not as strong as they once were. If the issues persist even after cleaning the filter, the jets need to be replaced.
  • Visible Cracks or Damage: Cracks, rust or physical damage to the actual jet can reduce performance and result in leaks, leading to the need for a replacement.
  • Jets Won’t Stay in Place: If the jets are loose and regularly pop out, there may be an issue with the locking mechanism.
  • Heavy Calcium or Mineral Build-Up: Calcium buildup may look like a white powdery coating on your hot tub jets. If cleaning it off doesn’t improve performance, this means that you need to replace the jet.
  • Old Age: Jets wear out over time, especially if they’ve never been replaced in an older hot tub. If it has been 7-10 years, they may simply be too old.
  • Inconsistent Jet Operation: If some jets work properly while others do not, this may be a sign of internal jet failure.
