The Beachcomber pH Minus is a granular product used to lower the Total Alkalinity and pH levels in your hot tub water. It efficiently lowers the pH level within the optimal range for your hot tub or pool water. The ideal pH range to prevent corrosion, eye-irritation, staining and scaling is from 7.2-7.8.
Keeping your pH level within this range will also increase the efficiency of your water sanitizer.

The Beachcomber pH Minus is best used to make small decreases in the level of pH in your hot tub water to prevent skin/eye irritation, scaling, cloudy water and improve the effectiveness of the sanitizer used.

pH level measures how basic or acidic your water is. Acidic water has a pH level below 7, and basic water has a pH above 7. Acidic water can result in pitting on heating elements or can wreck the equipment. Basic water levels result in calcium dissolving which causes scaling and cloudy water. Basic water also decreases the effectiveness of your sanitizer.

Before adjusting your pH levels always ensure Total Alkalinity is within an optimal range of 100-120 ppm.
Maintain a pH level between 7.2-7.8


  • Before adjusting the pH levels, use Aquacheck 6-in-1 Water Test Strips to check that Total Alkalinity levels are between 100-120ppm and then test pH.
  • Ideal pH level is from 7.2-7.8
  • to lower pH level by 0.2 add 6g of Beachcomber pH minus to 1000L of water
  • If pH level is above 7.8 - sprinkle Beacomber pH minus into the middle of hot tub and allow it to run on circulation for 30 minutes
  • Test pH levels again
